When Bittersweet was founded thirteen years ago, I had one main objective in mind.. To produce a product line thats character was built and inspired by days gone by. A time and period that reflected simpler days, when less was more, and items were made by hand and passionately created.
The idea was not so much to re-create products from the past, but rather to re-visit an era when workmanship and quality were king. A time when the greatest attention was paid to the smallest of detail to ensure that people could enjoy their purchase to the fullest, from beginning to end.
Through hours of research I've created a unique soap formulation very much like the one used by my French grandmother. Bittersweet Soap contains large amounts of moisture rich olive oil, clean spring water and natural nutrients, like goat milk and French clay. Each bar is cut by hand and then wrapped in beautiful packaging focusing on the tiniest of detail. After all, what's outside should appear as pretty and special as what's inside.
Even though I consider soap manufacturing my expertise, I also take great pride in making other unique hand-made goods and home keeping essentials. All of these creations are crafted with my own two hands. I'm passionate about incorporating vintage inspired details into all of Bittersweets designs and packaging.
You won't find Bittersweet hand-made items mass produced or sitting from store shelf to store shelf. I believe in a more personal approach when marketing my products, which makes each item more unique and special. I'm proud of that philosophy.
Bittersweet may be found on our web site and at the Saturday Studio located in my home.
Occasionally, Bittersweet participates in a showing of our newest items. We announce those events on our web site and blog.
I'd be happy to answer any questions about Bittersweets natural and hand-made essentials.
